Privacy policy

Your privacy is critically important to us. At LockyBot we have a few fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.
  • You can reach us at support@lockybot.com at any point to close your account and completely delete your data in our system.
  • If you have questions about deleting or correcting your personal data please contact our support team at support@lockybot.com.

Data collected and processing

As much as possible, LockyBot operates within Slack without sending data back out to our servers. That said, we still need a few details to identify and provide relevant services.

That's it. We do not collect any names, emails, or any other information from your Slack team.

When you uninstall the LockyBot account, we retain the data for 90 days before deleting everything. This gives you a chance to resume the service at any time in that window.

If at any point you would like all the data to be deleted, you can write to us at support@lockybot.com and we process all requests without exception.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, LockyBot collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. LockyBot's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how LockyBot's visitors use its website. From time to time, LockyBot may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

LockyBot also collects potentially personally-identifying information that is collected by Gooogle Analytics. The analytics feature LockyBot has implemented is based on Display Advertising (e.g., Remarketing, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, the Doubleclick Campaign Manager integration, or Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting). Visitors can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customer Display Network ads using Ads Settings.

LockyBot will not facilitate the merging of personally-identifiable information with non-personally indentifiable information previously collected from Google Display Advertising features that is based on the DoubleClick cookie unless LockyBot has robust notice of, and the user's prior affirmative (i.e., opt-in) consent to, that merger. LockyBot also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. LockyBot only discloses logged in user IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.

At any time, visitors may choose to opt-out of Google Analytics tracking with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

LockyBot uses the Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting feature to identify trends in the usage of its website which may be published in reports for internal use.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to LockyBot's websites choose to interact with LockyBot in ways that require LockyBot to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that LockyBot gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who sign up for an account at lockybot.com to provide their Slack authorization which in turn supplies us with your Email and Full name. Those who engage in transactions with LockyBot – by purchasing a monthly subscription to lockybot.com, for example – are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, LockyBot collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with LockyBot. LockyBot does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. Visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

We primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. LockyBot takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
